NI Water has awarded a contract for sludge disposal services worth an estimated £8.6 million.
The water company currently produces approximately 18 000 tonnes per year of Water Treatment Works (WTWs) Residuals. The contract covers the collection, transportation and final disposal of Residuals from NI Water WTWs.
The initial contract period is for 2 years with three further annual extension options. NI Water has reserved the right to amend the specification or re-negotiate on price during the contract period to cater for innovation or developments in the service requirement.
Portadown-based firm R. Heatrick Ltd has been awarded the contract, one of six companies who tendered for the work.
